info

Must be very nice being a kid of a rich Corp exec. Being able to piss away more nuyen than what most wage slaves make in a year on stupid drek and not having to worry at all about basic survival must be the absolute dream. So when one such kid decided to run away, it has a rather heartbroken and housebroken Mr. Johnson in a tizzy. Maybe there's more to being a good parent than money.

Help Mr. Johnson bring his runaway son back

Slow Ride

We get this job from a corporate rep that has clearly never been a johnson before, and he has us meet at some runner wannabe nightclub. The whole place just... candyware as far as the eye can scan. But, he's a concerned parent, and wants us to find his boy. I initially write it off as an angsty teenager trying to dock his girl, but something about it was unique. Possibly, a young new techno is emerging.

So the J invites us to his actual fragging house. Real smart. Saved the address in case he tries to burn us. We toss the doss, do our thing, and find info on a cat named Sandman. More about him later. We also find a contact on a dealer named Jas. Sells this kid his weed. I hate dealers. A bunch of roaches come out and try to kill him (a fitting end, if you ask me) when we get to the docks he stinks up. Turns out, someone with some mojo wants him dead.

He hits us with a place to dig deeper. Some arms depot for Eagle Security. Said the kid had signs that the technos with us recognized as a "dissonant". Apparently that's really bad. Hate to see it happen to an innocent.

I initially planned to pose as a prospective arms buyer, as I actually did hope to score an Onotari battle rifle out of the gig, but... I honestly don't remember what happened. Cosmos started talking to the guard and I went into a daze. It's like being around mojo throws me off my game. But, apparently I handled the rest of the job well enough. Got the kid, stopped some dissonant code from corrupting him... That's the Sandman's work. It's another win for ol' RunnerNET, all said. It's nice to get out from under the hood and do work.
